You can grow to like it
I got this to be a little more active at work, where I sit at a desk all day. It is a cheap device, so it's not perfect, but if you're just using it because it's better than nothing, then you can grow to like it.Here's what I like:It comes with its own battery for the little counter that goes on top. It counts your revolutions as well as calories burned (though it's not very accurate) and time spent pedaling. The counter automatically turns on when you start pedaling, and it turns off after a period without use, to save battery. You can easily reset the counter by pressing the red button until it shows zeros again. It's very easy to assemble straight out of the box (like one minute worth of assembly), and it's lightweight enough to carry into the office. It does the job, and it's a low enough price point that I'm not worried about someone stealing it. I enjoy using this desk bike to keep my legs moving, even while I'm sitting down because we all know even a little movement is better than sitting still all day. Here's what I don't like:You can't really pick a resistance besides screwing the screw on top tighter, which doesn't do much, besides making the pedals squeak and make noise. That said, it's not an incredibly discreet device to have in the office. People will be able to see and hear that you're using it. In addition, it takes a while to find a comfortable position for this bike at your desk, since you can't adjust how tall it is. I have to put my chair as high as it goes so that I'm high enough up to effectively use this bike. Fortunately, I can also adjust my desk to be high enough, but for a desk that doesn't adjust, you probably won't be able to use this device. I also have to put my chair really close to the bike so that it doesn't hurt my knees to use. Due to the design of this bike and being unable to adjust how tall it is, I think it won't work for everyone unless you have the exact right circumstances. I'm 5'6, and I think if you're any taller than that, it might be difficult to comfortably use this under a desk and from a regular office chair (particularly if it rolls).Fortunately, I have found a position in which I can comfortably use this device at work to avoid sitting still all day. I like it for the price point, although it isn't perfect, and I use it every work day. If you're looking for the cheapest option possible, this will probably work for you. But if I could go back in time and spend a little more on a higher quality desk bike, I would probably do that instead.
